Ancestral Diet Plans
Ancestral diets offer variety and good nutrition. These diets feature foods our ancestors thrived on — whole, all-natural, animal proteins & fats, fruits, seeds, nuts and veggies that were native to the area. Ancestral diets were regionally unique because people ate foods that were available where they lived. People in North America didn't eat the same foods as people in Asia or South America. They didn't have trucks, ships, planes, and trains to deliver food to another continent. There were no refined sugary foods or vegetable oils. Our ancestors basically enjoyed a paleo style diet.
Every body is different though. Eating habits, our dna, and environmental factors have effected our food sensitivities and digestion. If you've experienced any of the numerous food sensitivities or allergies, or even if you have an iron-clad digestive system, we'd encourage you to eat whole, all-natural foods. Try your best to give up the refined sugar and processed foods. The human body has an amazing ability to heal and re-learn. In much the same way, our pet's ancestors ate what was native to their area. Nature didn't intend dogs and cats to eat corn kibble. In the wild, their ancestors would have eaten meat they hunted and plants they foraged. On our Discover Blog, we offer some helpful suggestions on converting your pet to a raw food diet.
