Grilling Secrets for Your Next Grass-Fed Steak
If you're going to spend extra to get the very best grass-fed, grass-finished steaks, then you want to prepare them properly. To be a grill master, you need a few tools, a reasonable level of knowledge about your grill, good seasoning choices, and a few tips about grass-fed meats. Lucky for you, we have a little bit of experience with grilling up tasty grass-fed steaks. So here are a few things we think you should know before you get started.
Firstly, you should know grilling grass-fed steaks is a little different from grain-fed. Grass-fed meats have an entirely different amino acid profile than grain-fed, allowing for a shorter cook time and lower temperatures.
Secondly, think about your seasonings. A grass-fed steak already has a delicious flavor profile, but adding a simple steak seasoning can make this flavor really shine. Another tip we and so many others recommend is brushing your steak with melted butter or ghee. Who can say no to grass-fed butter? Not us!
Finally, because of the difference in cook time due to the leanness of the grass-fed meat, you will want to watch your steak closely. The main advice we can share is not overcooking your steak! Overcooking makes the meat tough, and most love a steak that is juicy and tender. So lead with a searing technique to lock in natural juices.
