St. Patrick's Day Prep
With St. Patrick's Day approaching, we're sharing some historical nuggets about its traditions and namesake. 1848 was the first year New York City united their St. Patrick's Day parades into one central event. It is now the oldest and largest parade in the world. According to History.com, there are over 150,000 participants, and nearly 3 million people attend to watch. These parades take place all over the country. If you tune in or watch in person, you're likely to see plenty of kilts and hear the haunting sound of bagpipes. While many people think of Scottish Highland and Irish Bagpipes, they are thought to have originated as reed pipes in the orient or ancient Egypt, but it's not for sure. There's even a possible reference in the book of Daniel, depending on how it's translated. Most agree that the Romans brought the pipe to many European countries. The earliest mention of an Irish bagpipe is from 1206.
Will you celebrate St. Patrick's Day in 2022? If so, we hope you'll consider our all-natural, original recipe corned beef. Our special recipe brine contains NO MSG, NO Nitrates, or dairy. Here's a list of ingredients: beef, water, sea salt, garlic powder, nutmeg, coriander, citric acid, natural spices (clove, cinnamon, allspice). We think it's tasty and celebrates the traditional Irish American dish many look forward to every year. If you plan on making your own homemade corned beef, use our 100% grass-fed brisket for a truly amazing flavor experience. Need some help with a recipe?
