Meat can be a healthy choice in your diet, provided it's grass-fed and organic. The way the meat is raised, what it eats, where it lives, and whether it has access to the outdoors makes a major difference in whether it's a healthy food or a disease-promoting one.

Slow Cooker Pork Carnitas

Ingredients:
Directions:  
  1. Slice 5 cloves of garlic into halves or thirds. Puncture the pork and insert the sliced garlic into the slots. Place the pork shoulder into the slow cooker and cover with salt. No need to add extra liquid.
  2. Cover and slow cook on high for 6 hours or until the pork shreds easily with a fork.
  3. Pan fry shredded pork with juice from the slow cooker - add more fat of choice if needed. Fry until brown on one side.
  4. Eat it with eggs, salsa, guacamole or anything else you want to make awesome.
     
    Variations: Also tastes great cooked with any combination of cumin, onion, oregano, cilantro, orange juice/zest or jalapenos.

  • All orders must weigh at least 7 pounds in order to ship, to ensure everything stays frozen during transit.
  • $75 minimum purchase requirement, since we have built the cost of shipping into the price of each product.
  • You will never be charged extra for shipping.
  • There is a $7.50 handling fee upon checkout.
  • The South Carolina Chicken Bundles, BBQ Sauce, produce and cookbooks ship from separate locations, so they are not included in the 7 lb weight minimum.  The shopping cart will keep track and remind you if your order is under the 7 lb limit.   
Weight Discount
  • Receive a $25 discount for every 40 pounds you order. This offer excludes items that ship separate such as the South Carolina Chicken, produce and fresh bundles.
