Dr. Al Sears
You might remember the headlines from a few months ago when the FDA banned the antibacterial agent triclosan from hand soaps. That was a good thing... We've known for a long time that triclosan causes health problems.

The problem is that the FDA didn't go far enough. It still allows triclosan to be used in a lot of products you use every day. It's in everything from deodorants and cosmetics to cutting boards. In fact, in one study, researchers found that triclosan was present in the urine of 75% of people over the age of 6. (1)

The most troubling part of the FDA ruling is that they still allow triclosan to be used in toothpaste. And it's in the most popular toothpaste in the country.

Customer Feedback
Black Cod
"We've always been a big fan of your beef and burgers but decided to try the sablefish as well. It was so much better than any of the cod we've bought locally; I don't think anything could compare!"

When it comes to health and nutrition, we've all heard the phrase, "You are what you eat." And this is true... to an extent.

However, it's more accurate to say, "You are not only what you eat... but, rather, what you absorb."

Because no matter how healthy your diet is, if your body is incapable of absorbing precious nutrients, they'll go right down the drain - literally. And while that's not good for your body, it doesn't do any favors for your wallet either!

Thanks to The Primal Palate for this recipe, perfect for upcoming St. Patrick's Day or a Friday night Lenten meal!

"Instantly transport yourself to your favorite pub and tuck in for a decadent meal of fish and chips. You'll feel as if you're right there: the thick, crispy batter gives way to light and fluffy cod. Topping a bed of crispy and salty fries, this meal would be best served with a crisp, hard cider or gluten free beer."
