Saying Farewell To A Legend Back in the late 1950's, the music landscape changed forever. There have been numerous iconic musical legends throughout history and Charlie Daniels was certainly one of them. There aren't too many people, country western fans or not, who don't get goosebumps from his song, "The Devil Went Down To Georgia". Mr. Daniels was proficient in a variety of instruments and was the writer of many popular tunes. He worked with Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan, The Youngbloods, The Marshall Tucker Band, Hank Williams, Jr., Johnny Cash, Travis Tritt, Ringo Starr, George Harrison, and James Brown just to name a few. Charlie Daniels was also a rancher and avid supporter of the Grass-fed Beef Cattle movement. Mr. Daniels performed at Grazefest Alabama in 2004; one of the first large events bringing together the pioneers of pasture-based cattle farming. The event was organized by rancher, Teddy Gentry, another music legend and bass player for the group Alabama. Charlie Daniels passed away at the age of 83 on July 6, 2020.
