Irish Flavor & Hold The Sugar
March brings the hope of fresh grass, sunshine, warmer weather, SPRINGTIME! It also holds a special place in our hearts and minds for old Irish flavors. St. Patrick's Day is an opportunity to enjoy some early Irish American dishes. Corned Beef and cabbage are traditional favorites that make kitchens sing with savory smells. Corned beef became popular here in America during the late 19th century among immigrants needing a substitute for salted pork or bacon. If your family loves corned beef like we do, this is a great time of year whether you have Irish heritage or not. The leftovers are something to look forward to as well...reuben sandwiches, chowder, breakfast hash, or corned beef & cabbage casserole...mmm! We've even got some helpful recipes available on our Discover Blog. Make your own with a grass-fed beef brisket or try one of our delicious corned beef briskets or corned beef flat iron. Cook these low and slow or use your instant pressure cooker for a tender juicy treat.
While spring has nearly sprung in the midwest, we're reminded of the necessity to keep our bodies and minds healthy. Get plenty of sleep, drink enough water, and eat healthy foods to make sure your immunities are as powerful as possible. Kelley Herring checks in this week to offer some advice for keeping your mind sharp. So many processed foods are loaded with sugar and as you'll see in Kelley's article, sugar causes all sorts of health problems including serious brain drain!

New Products | Turkey Necks & 5 Gallon Bacon Grease
We've recently added a couple new items to our online store. Pasture raised turkey necks might not sound very appealing, but when you cook them in an instant pressure cooker or on the stove, you'll have a wonderfully nutrient dense bone broth guaranteed to give your gut a smile. Bone broth is nature's immune booster! We have limited quantities of these so get yours while they last.
We've also added our famous pasture raised, heirloom pork bacon grease in 5 gallon buckets. This is the same uncured bacon lard we have available in smaller pails. If you want to take your home cooking to a new level or wow your restaurant customers, this will do it!
