Gut Instinct
In Dr. Sears’ article, he talks about the importance of gut health to our wellbeing. The gut is far more than a digestive system. It is a major communication center in the body, often called the second brain because of its dense network of neurons and constant interaction with the nervous system. A well‑nourished gut supports mood, energy, immunity, and overall resilience. When we fuel it with whole foods, healthy fats and steady nutrition, it becomes the foundation for long‑term health.
This relationship is why we often talk about having a gut feeling. The gut and brain stay in close contact through the vagus nerve, sending signals that influence intuition, stress levels, digestion, and emotional balance. When we slow down and notice how our body responds to certain foods, habits, or environments, we begin to understand the cues it uses to guide us toward what helps us feel our best.
Gut health also plays a key role in how we age. A balanced microbiome reduces inflammation, supports cellular repair, and strengthens the immune system. One way to nourish this system is by choosing nutrient‑dense foods such as 100% grass‑fed and pasture‑raised meats. These offer higher levels of omega‑3s, CLA, vitamins, and minerals that support metabolic health. Wild‑caught seafood is another powerful option, providing clean and highly absorbable omega‑3 fatty acids that benefit both the gut and the brain.
Aging gracefully becomes much more achievable when we support the body on multiple levels. Quality proteins, healthy fats, restorative sleep, daily movement, and stress management all contribute to better longevity. When we pay attention to our body’s signals — whether it is energy dipping, digestion shifting, or mood changing — we begin to respond in ways that help us stay strong, balanced, and vibrant through every stage of life. Listening to the body is one of the most reliable tools we have for lifelong wellness.

Can We Prevent or Reverse Cognitive Decline? By Dr. Sears
Developing dementia or Alzheimer’s is one of the most common issues my patients tell me they worry about as they get older. But it doesn’t have to be. Here’s the truth: By making a few simple changes, you can keep your brain sharp and your memory intact. Those changes may surprise you because they don’t involve doing more crossword puzzles, taking classes, or exercising more.
Introducing Ethan Paff - March 2026 Featured Chef
Our Featured Chef for March 2026 is Ethan Paff. Ethan is a health educator and content creator focused on making nutrition simple, practical, and grounded in how our bodies were designed to function. Ethan has a background in Biology and personal experience with autoimmune thyroid issues. Ethan began developing his passion for cooking at a very young age and has used his extensive knowledge to help face his own health challenges. “I started cooking for myself when I was around 10 years old. The first “recipes” I ever wrote were for scrambled eggs and grilled cheese. I was determined to get them right every time; it felt less like cooking and more like a science experiment that I needed to master.” — Ethan Paff Bone broth can feel overhyped, but when it’s made well, it’s one of the most foundational foods for supporting gut health. The real benefit comes from the collagen-rich connective tissues found on bones like patella, knuckle, and oxtail. This week, Ethan prepares his Ultimate Beef Bone Broth.

The Power of Food: Can the Right Choices End a Child's Suicidal Thoughts? For more than two decades we’ve supported and featured many journeys of transformation resulting from dietary changes. In particular, some of the most visually profound, medically-validated head-to-toe illness, aging, and even full-on dementia reversals we’ve ever seen (including with my own staff and myself) arose from the leptin-focused power of Kat James’ Total Transformation® Programs, originating and honed from her own protocol that she pieced together in 1990 to save her own life after multiple serious illnesses.
